In a survey by Focus-Money and Deutschland Test, Hörmann KG was selected as one of the "100 Most Popular German Family Businesses" in 2015. In this influential survey, respondent consumers indicated good user experience with this family-run door product manufacturer.
Focus-Money focused on the personal experience of consumers with German family-owned businesses. Entrusted by the initiator, Service Value GmbH, an analysis and consulting firm in Cologne, selected a total of 220 family businesses for this survey. Each of these companies must meet EU standards regarding "family business". In addition, its annual revenue must be at least 35 million Euro and it must have direct contact with customers.
A total of 100 best family businesses were ultimately identified through an online survey conducted on a representative registered population. Respondents were asked to give scores in the range of 1 - 5 to those family businesses or brands that they had experienced specifically, and the final evaluation of each family business must be based on at least 300 responding scores.
According to the survey results, Hörmann met high standards in all areas of innovation, product quality and customer affinity: this European supplier of good-quality gates, doors, door frames and operator products ranked 52nd on the list, overtaking companies such as Warsteiner, Seidensticker, Sixt and Fuchs Gewürze, etc. Mr. Stefan Gamm, Global Marketing Communications Manager of Hörmann, was very pleased with these results: "We sell products through qualified distributors rather than directly facing end consumers during sales. For most people, one would purchase a door or garage door only once throughout his lifetime. Therefore, it is exciting to be able to gain such a high level of popularity and satisfaction among the respondents."
